Cute Holiday Wine Glasses
I was trying to buy some new holiday wine glasses last week but quickly changed my mind after realizing how expensive they were at various stores. What’s the next best thing to do for a frugal girl like myself? Make them myself for 10% of the cost. Luckily, I found a box of clear wine glasses in my garage and off I went to Michael’s to see what I could come up with. I bought a tiny jar of pink glitter and a small jar of Modge Podge.
First I taped off the top and stem of the wine glasses with some tape that I had at home:
Next I spread a thin coat of Modge Podge on the exposed area:
Then sprinkled the glitter onto the Modge Podge.
I repeated this step again on the bottom of the wine glass.
I let the glasses sit overnight to dry.
The next day I took the tape off and voila-how cute !!!
I put another layer of Modge Podge over the glitter to keep the glitter from coming off when I washed them.
Then I took them to my sister’s house for lunch. This is my sister and daughter enjoying home made strawberry daquiri in our new holiday wine glasses.

Wow! Those look great! And they can even be festive all year long!
I am wondering if you went over the glitter again with modge podge if you would be able to wash them and reuse them?
Yes, that is why I put another coat of Modge Podge on the glitter. This keeps the glitter from flaking off when the glasses are washed. I would suggest only washing them by hand.
How cool and easy! I like that – what else can you use beside glitter with the hodge podge? Could you use sparkle stars, etc?
Yes Elizabeth, you can use almost anything. Modge Podge is basically like Elmer’s Glue. I bought the glossy bottle so you wouldn’t see it through the glass.
These are too cute! I love how they turned out
How pretty! These would be super pretty with a votive candle in them too!
